Steps to view all Courses with low profitability

 


Learn how to view a list of all Courses that are coming up soon, that have a low profitability.

When you are reviewing your upcoming course schedule, one of the key factors to assess is how profitable each Course is.

Understanding which of your Courses is not yet generating a high income empowers you to make informed decisions - whether you continue to offer this Course, whether you strategise discounts for to promote bookings, or whether you decide to cancel the Course.

To be able to flag which of your Courses are not making a high profit, you can build a reusable filter on your Course DataGrids to quickly see only your low profit Courses! You can also create a dedicated gadget on your Dashboard to have this information available as soon as you login!

View all upcoming Classroom Courses with low profitability

This step will run through how to access the list of upcoming Class Courses that are reporting a low or negative profit.

You will build DataGrid filters that you will be able to reuse the next time you want to view this information!

To view all Classroom Courses with a low profit, you will follow these steps:

  1. Access and filter your Class Courses DataGrid

  2. Display the information you require in your DataGrid

Access and filter your Class Courses DataGrid

This step will take you to a list of all future Classroom Courses with low profitability numbers

  1. Access the Class Course DataGrid by going to Courses > Class in the main menu on the left-hand side

  2. This will open the Class Course DataGrid which will show all Class Courses within the Platform

     

  3. First check to see if you have an existing filter available in your DataGrid which only shows you Courses with a low profit, if you do have an existing filter please click on it to apply it to your DataGrid and skip to step 10
    Filters may be included in your filters bar, or they may be tucked away in the Filters drop-down box to the right of the filters bar, if you already have a filter available you can click on it to apply it to your DataGrid 



  4. If you do not yet have an existing filter, click on the ‘Filters’ drop-down button to the right of the filters bar

     

  5. Click on the ‘+ Create New’ option 

     

  6. Create your new filter using the following settings:
    'Profitability Forecast' - ‘Less Than Or Equal To’ - 'your profit number'
    Please update the ‘500’ to the profit number of your choice

     

  7. Click the ‘Preview’ button to check that your filter works as you expect

     

  8. To save your Filter for future use, enter a Filter name in the text box next to the green ‘Save’ button

     

  9. Click on the 'Save' button

     

  10. You can filter your list of Courses further by adding in another filter rule to show Courses running in the next 30 days, to do this, click to add another new filter via the ‘Filters’ button, and use the rule:
    'Start Date' - ‘Period’ - ‘Next 30 days’

     

  11. Click on the ‘Save’ button to create your second filter

     

  12. Your DataGrid will now have two filters applied, and will only show you Courses with a low profitability that start in the next thirty days

     

 

Display the information you require in your DataGrid

This step will show you how to adjust the columns that are displayed in your Class Courses DataGrid so that you can see the information you need to see.

  1. If you do not already have it open, access the ‘Class Courses’ DataGrid by going to Courses > Class in the main menu on the left-hand side

     

  2. Consider the information that you need to know about your Courses
    This could include start date, venue name, available places, profitability forecast

  3. Remove any columns that you do not need to see in your DataGrid by right-clicking on them and clicking the ‘Remove Column’ option

     

  4. To add additional columns into your DataGrid, click on the ‘Change Columns’ button at the top right of the DataGrid results

     

  5. Use the ‘+' button to add new columns in, search for the column you require and click on the 'Apply’ button

     

  6. You will now see the information you need, within your DataGrid

     


View all upcoming Webinar Courses with low profitability

This step will run through how to access the list of upcoming Web Courses that are reporting a low or negative profit.

You will build DataGrid filters that you will be able to reuse the next time you want to view this information!

To view all Classroom Courses with a low profit, you will follow these steps:

  1. Access and filter your Web Courses DataGrid

  2. Display the information you require in your DataGrid

Access and filter your Web Courses DataGrid

This step will take you to a list of all future Webinar Courses with low profitability numbers

  1. Access the Web Courses DataGrid by going to Courses > Web in the main menu on the left-hand side

     

  2. This will open the Web Course DataGrid which will show all Web Courses within the Platform

     

  3. First check to see if you have an existing filter available in your DataGrid which only shows you Courses with a low profit
    Filters may be included in your filters bar, or they may be tucked away in the Filters drop-down box to the right of the filters bar, if you already have a filter available you can click on it to apply it to your DataGrid

Build a Dashboard Area to show you all upcoming Courses with low profitability

To build your new Dashboard Area, you will follow these steps:

  1. Add a new Dashboard Area

  2. Add a DataGrid Gadget to show you a list of the future Courses that do not have a venue

Optional - Add a new Dashboard Area

This step will show you how to add a new Dashboard Area to your Dashboard, if you already have a Dashboard area that you can add this new gadget to you can skip this step.

  1. Open the 'Dashboard' from your main navigation menu on the left

     

  2. Click on the arrow icon button on the Dashboard Area drop-down box

     

  3. Click on the ‘Add Area’ option to create a new, blank, Dashboard Area

     

  4. Provide a name for your new Dashboard Area

     

  5. Click 'OK'

     

  6. You will now have a new Dashboard Area which does not contain any Gadgets

     

  7. Move onto the next step to start adding Gadgets to your Dashboard Area!
