On demand webinar: Reporting using Smart Grids

About Smart Grids

Smart Grids provide a powerful way to view and manage information across your entire platform!

They are based on DataGrids, so you can make use of all DataGrid features (such as filtering results, exporting data, and bulk editing items), however instead of showing you the Delegates for one Course only, or the Purchases for one Product only, Smart Grids provide a global view of your data.

For example, you can use a Smart Grid to view and manage all of your Classroom Delegates, or view every Purchase made across all Products. This comprehensive view makes it easier to analyse your data, spot trends, and complete actions efficiently, all from a single page!

Benefits

Here are the benefits of using Smart Grids

Centralised Management

By providing a space where all items can be found in one place, Smart Grids allow for efficient management of your Delegates, User Awards, Placeholders, and Bookings. For example, you do not need to go through Delegate lists on multiple Courses to find all Delegates that meet a certain criteria

Improved Productivity

Another benefit of having all objects in one place, is that Smart Grids facilitate faster and more accurate management of large data sets

Customisation

Like with all DataGrids, Smart Grids offer tailored views to meet specific needs - allowing you to add/remove columns on demand, and apply your own filters

Bulk Edit, Filter, and Export

Smart Grids also support bulk editing, exporting data, and applying filters for easy data handling

Key Terms and Glossary

Smart Grid

A Smart Grid is a DataGrid containing modular information in one place, e.g. you can search the Delegates' Smart Grid to find information relating to Delegates on multiple Courses, rather than having to navigate to each course's Delegates' list separately

Columns

Each Column of a Smart Grid represents a piece of info, e.g. ‘Delegate Name’ and ‘Email Address’ are columns available in the Class Delegates' Smart Grid - like with all DataGrids, you can change the columns to view different information.

Rows / Items

Each Row in your Smart Grid represents an item, e.g. each row in the Web Delegates' Smart Grid represents a Web Delegate, and each row in the Bookings Smart Grid represents a Booking.

Bulk Edit

The Bulk Edit option allows you to Edit multiple items of data to the same values quickly and efficiently, e.g. bulk editing multiple Delegates Status to ‘Completed’.

Export

Exporting data from your Smart Grids allows you to export the information into a .xls or .csv format which you can then open and analyse in Excel

Filters

Filters allow you to limit the results of your Smart Grid down into a smaller, easier to understand and manage group of data

Search bar

Searching is a quick way to find a specific item in a Smart Grid; such as a Delegate, Placeholder, or a User Award to view or update

Context Menu

The Context Menu is a menu that allows you to edit, manage and access information relating to the line of data you have selected, you access the Context Menu Option by right-clicking on an item in a Smart Grid.
