This page is to give an overview of the Rich Text Editor, this page appears in many different areas of the platform but has the same behaviour in all areas.
The Rich Text Editor is for adding text content to the platform, but allows you to style the text including font size, colour and style, this area also to add links to text and images too if required.
Where to find the Rich Text Editor
The Rich Text Editor can be found in Course Templates, Course Dates and Email Templates.
Anywhere that has an area that allows text to be added, the editor looks like this:
The icons along the top of the Rich text editor have the following functions:
Style: Allows you to choose a type of heading from Headings to Quote text
B: Turns selected text bold
I: Turns selected text italic
U: Underlines the selected text
Eraser: Removes selected font style
Font Name: Allows the selection of various font styles
Font Size: Allows the size of the selected font to be increased or decreased
A: Font colour selector
Bullet Point List: Allows a list of bullet points that create a new point each time return is pressed
Number List: Allows a list of numbered items, a new number will be created each time return is pressed
Justification: Used for justifying the text left, centre, right that is currently selected
Table: Allows a table to be inserted into the text editor, any size can be added by clicking the rows and columns needed
Link: Allows a link to be added into the text editor
Picture: Allows an image to be uploaded and inserted into the text editor
File: Allows a direct link to any file located in the File Store on the platform
Full Screen: Allows the current Rich Text Editor box to be full screen
</>: Allows the rich text to be edited in full HTML, this is referred to as code view
Cleaner: This will attempt to clean the formatting of the HTML to remove any messy code
