Integrating and sending SMS

This page outlines the options and steps for setting up your accessplanit platform to send SMS.

SMS Requirements

To send SMS through your accessplanit you must have the following:

  1. An account with a supported SMS Provider

    1. With a verified SMS sender name
      (this must be under 10 characters and not include any spaces or special characters)

    2. With SMS credits

  2. The ability to capture mobile phone numbers for your customers within your accessplanit platform

  3. SMS Workflows enabled

 


SMS Providers

There are two SMS providers that accessplanit work with, Text Marketer and Clickatell. Once you have selected which of these providers; you can set up an account, apply for your SMS sender name, and purchase your SMS credits through them!

 

Text Marketer

Text Marketer is a UK-based SMS Provider

Clickatell

Clickatell is a global SMS Provider

Website: https://www.clickatell.com/

Please note, if you will be applying for an account with Clickatell you must set up a 'Development Central' account, your accessplanit platform is not compatible with Clickatell’s new account type of ‘OneAPI’.

 

 


Capturing Mobile Numbers

In order to send SMS to your customers, you must have their mobile number stored within your accessplanit platform within the User’s mobile number option.

Manage Booking

The ‘Manage Booking’ step which displays at the end of the booking process in the Checkout basket can be set-up to request the mobile phone numbers for the Delegates booked onto your Courses, this can be an optional or a mandatory question!

Sending SMS Workflows

To send SMS through your platform, you will first require a member of the accessplanit team to enable SMS Workflows. Please get in touch with the accessplanit support desk for this.

Once you have SMS enabled as an available option in your Workflows tool, you can begin to build your own automated SMS communications!
