About Checkout Options

Checkout options offer a fantastic way to customise and configure your checkout experience.

You can add company branding, create a booking or registration form that suits the requirements you need, select finance options, and include company policies to ensure your users stay informed.

Benefits

Here are the benefits of using Checkout Options

Customisable and Configurable

Checkout is completely Customisable and Configurable, whether that's the Branding, Registration Form, Booking Form or adding your Company Policies.

Custom Fields can also be added into your forms to ensure you are gathering all the required information needed

Manage Booking

Additional information can be gathered for your Delegates using the Manage Booking Form - this is great for updating information, for example, if a Delegate hasn't booked onto a Course for a long time.

Streamlined and cohesive

By Branding your Checkout, you will have a streamlined and cohesive Customer journey through your website, making it easily identifiable when a Customer Checks out.

Track and Report

Add Google Analytics to your Checkout to track Checkout Baskets, payments, page clicks and more. Bookings and payments can also be reported on using our Report Writer Tool to allow you to view all data in one place.

Discount Usage

You can limit the number of Discounts that your customers can apply within your Checkout Basket. When your customers are making a Booking, they will not be able to stack discounts above the maximum number you have set. For example, if you have set the maximum discounts per booking to '1', then each booking that is processed through your Checkout basket will only allow one Discount to be applied.

Hide Cost & Payments

You now have the option to hide references to costs in your Checkout Basket!

This means that there will be no reference to making payments or item costs in any Checkout Basket where all the items have a value of zero/0.00.
This prevents confusion or clutter for bookings where there is no requirement for payment.

Key Terms and Glossary

Training Provider Options

Training Provider options allow you to set the following options per Training Provider which means you can have a different Checkout view for each one

These options include:

  • Branding (i.e. colours, fonts, and the headers & footers)

  • Google Analytics settings

  • Finance options (i.e. the display of the PO Number field)

  • Manage Booking form

  • Policies

  • Finance Options

Branding

Branding allows you to add a head and footer to your Checkout where a logo can be provided, and contact information for your company can be included if required. Branding allows you to set the Colour Scheme using hex codes to ensure the exact colour of your branding matches in your Checkout layout. Further to this, you can also design a Header & Footer for your Checkout using HTML code for a more professional look

Registration Form

The Registration Form is used to capture information about the person booking the course(s), this person may or may not be the person attending the course.

You can use this page to build and manage your Registration Form.

Please Note:

The Best practice when filling out Registration Forms is to write everything in English - this will allow the translator to render everything in the language being displayed by the user.

Policies

Policies allows you to add your Terms & Conditions as well as your Privacy Policy to ensure your customers are kept up to date

Manage Booking Form

The Manage Booking step is used to capture information about the delegates attending your Courses, this information is captured at the end of the Checkout basket once the booking is complete.

The Manage Booking step allows you to collect more information about your delegates - examples include: job title shipping address, National Insurance Number, etc.

This can reduce your registration drop-outs as capturing this information here (instead of within the registration form) can significantly reduce the time it takes to make a booking.

Collecting information through the Manage Booking Form also ensures that you have recent and relevant information for your Delegates, as information captured in a registration form may be out of date by the time the delegate is next booked onto a Course.

An example of this would be if someone registers for a course in 2018, provides their job title and additional/dietary requirements, this potentially could have changed by the time they book their next Course 2 years later.

Finance Options

Allows you to choose whether PO number is Mandatory, whether the PO number field is visible within Checkout & Which payment method PO Number is required for.

Options

The Options page includes all global settings for Checkout, these settings apply to all bookings made through the Checkout basket, regardless of the training provider.

These options include

  • Should the billing address be mandatory?

  • What information should be captured for new delegates?

Google Analytics

Add your Google Analytics account to Checkout so you can track metrics for Checkout Baskets

FAQ’s

If you get the error message: (Foreign Key Constraint) when creating a new user relating to the guest account, the setting (or ‘config’) that determines your Platform’s Guest Company will be incorrect.

Please get in touch with one of the Customer Support Team members if this happens, and they will assist you in getting this rectified.

To support any of your customers with accessibility needs, it is best practice to include an explanation of what the asterisk symbol means within your registration form, we recommend including a short statement at the top of your registration form to explain their purpose. Such as "* indicates this information required for your registration"
