How WorldPay transactions are processed for Administrator Users

When a logged-in User whose main role is Training Administrator or Super Administrator processes a payment using Worldpay, either through the Make Payment window or via Checkout, the transaction is submitted as a MOTO (Mail Order / Telephone Order) payment.

Because the payment is treated as MOTO, it:

  • Is processed as a merchant-initiated transaction

  • Bypasses 3D Secure authentication

  • Does not require additional cardholder verification steps

This makes sure that your internal (administrator) Users can quickly take payments on behalf of customers without triggering customer-facing 3D Secure checks.

If you require 3D Secure authentication to apply, the payment must be completed directly by the cardholder through the standard Checkout process, while not logged in as one of the above administrative roles.
