Learn how to view the Courses you have updated
Filters are a great way of narrowing your search criteria to only view Courses that are relevant to you that were last updated. By doing this, it allows you to focus on the Courses you are directly responsible for, making it easier to stay organised. By limiting your view, you can efficiently manage updates, monitor performance, and ensure that your Courses are ready to go.

Follow this page to learn the steps for filtering your DataGrid to only see the Courses you have updated
Add a Filter to the DataGrid
This step will walk you through how to apply filters to your platform DataGrids to limit the results to just those you need to be able to view and action.
To view all relevant Courses, you will follow these steps:
Create a new DataGrid Filter so you can view all relevant Courses
Save the Filter for use again in the future
From the Main Navigation Menu, select âCoursesâ and then either âClass Courseâ, âWeb Courseâ or âeLearningâ
This will open the relevant DataGrid
From the DataGrid, select the âFiltersâ button and then click on the â+ Create Newâ option from the top right of your DataGrid
Â
Consider how want to filter your DataGrid to limit the results that are shown to you, and what settings may be required for this. For example, in this case, you only want to see Courses that are relevant to you and the ones you last updated, think about what time period you would like to view your Courses in and whether or not you are looking for a specific type of Course.
Use the filter options to define the conditions of your new Filter
Top Tip!
Above shows Courses Created By a certain ID and the Last updated date for those Courses in the Time Period of Last 7 days.
This will show all Courses created by Hermione Lancaster where the Last updated date was in the last 7 days. The âPeriodâ filter can be changed to the future, in the last week, in the last quarter and so on, you can amend this filter at any time.
Please see Common Filter settings for more information.
Â
If you would like all of the conditions (each row of your filter) to be met for a result to appear in your DataGrid, leave the âAllâ option set in the toggle button 'Where the results meet all/any of the conditions
If you would like any of the conditions (any row of your filter) to be met for a result to appear in your DataGrid, click the âAllâ option to change it to âAnyâ in the toggle button 'Where the results meet all/any of the conditions.
For example, if you have multiple settings
When the âAnyâ option is set within the filter, Courses will show if they do not have a Created by ID OR they were not in the time period selected
When the âAllâ option is set within the filter, Courses will show if they do not have a Created by ID AND they are in the time period selected
Â
Click the âPreviewâ button to check that your filter works as you expect! If no results show, you may need to tweak your filter settings as there may not be any data available to view Â
Â
This will show you the filtered data within the DataGrid
If you would like to save your filter for future use, provide your filter with a name and click on the 'Save' button
If you have saved your DataGrid Filter, it will have been added to your filters bar which you can toggle on/off by clicking on it.

Your filter will now be available for you to use, each time you open this DataGrid
âĄď¸ Export the Data (Optional)
Exporting the data from the DataGrid into Excel allows you to view and manipulate the data to suit you.
From the DataGrid, you have created your filter following the steps above, select the Data you wish to Export, you can do this by using the âMass selectionâ checkbox or manually selecting the Courses you wish to Export
Once you are happy with the data you will be Exporting, click the âExportâ button at the top of the DataGrid
This will open the âExportâ form, where you need to fill in the required information
Rows - Â This selector has three options:
All Pages will export all the pages in the DataGrid
Current Page will export only the current page of data selected on the grid
Selected Rows will export only the rows that have the checkbox selected (select this option if you only want to export the selection of data that you have filtered and selected)Format - This selector allows you to specify the output file format of the export, the options are as follows: Excel XLXS, Excel XLS. Word DOCX, CSV, PDF, XML
Columns - This option allows you to specify the columns that are included in the export. Selecting 'Restore selected columns' will set the option back to its default and remove any columns you may have added or removed.
File Name - This will be the name of the file once it has been exported.
(NOTE: You cannot include the. symbol in the File Name as this will corrupt the file when saved)Headers - Allows you to specify if the header columns will be included in the export or not.
Once you have defined your settings, click the âExportâ button
Â
This will automatically download the data into the format you have requested. This usually appears in the top right of your web browser
The document will also be found within your âDownloadsâ file within your File Explorer
Please Note
Each Excel cell has a character limit of 32,767. If you exceed the character limit in your export, the entire Excel page will fail to load. To avoid problems, keep the number of characters in your cell below the limit.
Exporting large DataGrids of data may slow your platform down or cause a timeout error. If this occurs, we advise exporting the information in multiple downloads and running your exports outside of busy periods.
