What's New: September 2023

Your September 2023 update includes support for All / Any DataGrids, and support for Account & Account Group Price Schemes in your Checkout basket

Checkout - Price Schemes

This release includes support for Account & Account Group based Price Schemes in Checkout.

Price Schemes are used to define fixed, alternative, costs on your Courses for specific customers. These costs override the standard cost of the Course! This makes Price Schemes great for scenarios where Discounts are not suitable, or you have a contracted price with a customer for a Course that you offer.

To make use of Price Schemes in Checkout; you first need to set up a Price Schemes for each group of customers that should receive a different cost on your Courses, you then assign your Price Scheme to your Courses and enter the cost for this group of customers.

Within Checkout, the Price Scheme price will apply to the basket when any of the following is met:

  1. If it is an Account selected as the ‘Bill To’ and the Account meets the criteria of the Price Scheme

  2. If it is a User selected as the ‘Bill To’ and the User’s Main Account meets the criteria of the Price Scheme

If any of your customers match multiple Price Schemes when they are booking a Course, then they will be assigned the cheapest cost based on their matches.

Please note that Job Role based Price Schemes are not yet supported.

If you are switching from the current Shopping Basket to the new Checkout basket, there are a couple of differences in the way that the two baskets manage Price Schemes for you to be aware of:

  • We stringly discourage the use of varying cost types in both baskets, for example if your Course costs £100 per day we do not recommend having a Price Scheme on this Course of £300 per session. Within Checkout, if you do need to use different Cost Types you must turn on the ‘auto-commit’ Invoices functionality for thes costs to be accurately applied to Invoices.

  • Within the Checkout basket, Course Template Price Schemes are not included in the lookup of Price Schemes for Classroom and Webinar Courses, only Price Schemes that are assigned to the Course will be referenced. This means that you can confidently refer to the Price Schemes on the Course to know which Price Schemes will be valid for bookings on this Course.

Checkout - No default Payment Type selected when there are multiple options

In this release, we have updated the Payment Type drop-down box in the Payment step of the Checkout basket to no longer pre-select a payment option for them, this means that there will be less users that miss this step and checkout using Invoice instead of paying up front!

When someone reaches the payment step of the basket, if there are multiple options available to them – the drop-down box will no longer be pre-populated and they will need to click on the drop-down box to make their selection.

However, if they only have access to one payment options (i.e. just Stripe), they will continue to have this option pre-selected for them.

Forms - Help Text

In this release we have added in our first Help Text into the platform forms!

We have started with the Sessional setting that you can use when editing a Course, but we will be rolling this out to other forms over the next few months.

We will be focusing first on the settings that we get the most questions about, and the settings that are not used very often that people can forget what they do.

This help text is to provide clarity on what the settings are for in your platform, to help new team members get to grips with your accessplanit platform more quickly and confidently. Many of the help texts will also including a link to our knowledge base so that you can learn more about that feature and hopefully get more out of your accessplanit platform!

DataGrids - All/Any Filters

We have added in support for Any/All DataGrid Filters, these allow you to build filters that treat their rules/conditions as an ‘Or’ rather than an ‘And’.

For example:

  • When applying the above filter with an ‘Any’ option set, Courses will show if they do not have a Venue OR they do not have a Trainer.

  • When applying the above filter with an ‘All’ option set, Courses will show if they do not have a Venue AND they do not have a Trainer.

This is not yet available in Workflows or Dashboard Gadgets, please submit a product suggestion if you hear any customers requesting this / they would benefit from this!
