October 2022

Your October 2022 update includes several big updates to the Learner Portal, and a new setting available in your Invoice Generator

Learner Portal - My Course Breakdown

Here at accessplanit we’re seeing more and more of our customers exploring blending course offerings to their learners.

Blended learning incorporates online/digital elements with face-to-face sessions, which better supports different types of learners, allows learners to complete many elements of the course at their own pace, while still having the benefits of instructor-led training!

Sessional Courses are a great tool for you administrators to set up learning plans for your learners; incorporating Classroom days, Webinars, eLearning, and Knowledge Documents, the next step is to make sure that the learning pathway is clear to the learner themselves! We want learners to be able to view their progress on their course, clearly see what they have coming up next, and be able to launch elements of their Course, all from one page!

In this October update we have redesigned the My Courses page of the Learner Portal to provide your learners with an easy-to-access Course Breakdown page which lists each of the sessions they are booked to attend, along with quick actions available to launch their eLearning course, to download their documents, to view the venue details, and to access their webinar joining information!

My Course Breakdown page in the Learner Portal

Your Learners are able to access this Course Breakdown page by clicking on the ‘View Course Breakdown’ option on their Sessional Course on the My Courses page of the Learner Portal.

If any of your Learners are booked onto an eLearning Course which has an eLearning Plan, they will also be able to track their progress and launch each of their Courses from the plan, in the Course Breakdown page for this eLearning Course.

Learner Portal - My Courses updates

Alongside the introduction of the new ‘My Course Breakdown’ page, we have made some updates to the core My Courses page of the Learner Portal to better support your learners, particularly those that are booked to attend a lot of Courses with you!

  1. Sessions have been removed from this page
With the introduction of the new My Course Breakdown page, which lists each of the sessions a delegate is booked onto for their sessional course, we have cleared up the My Courses page to remove the Sessions. This now means that your Learners have a much clearer view of their active Courses, with the ability to dig into and view their sessions if they choose to.

  2. No Longer Grouped by Course Type
The Courses listed in the My Courses page are no longer grouped together into different tables per Course Type (i.e. a table for Classroom courses, and another for eLearning Courses), instead they are listed in just two tables; one for Courses they are actively working towards or Courses coming up in the future, and a second table for their historical Courses.
This makes it much easier to scan through the Courses to see what is up next for them!

  3. Sortable columns
The table of courses within the My Courses page of the Learner Portal can now be sorted by the learners themselves! They can choose to reorder the tables based on the date of the Course, the date that they were registered, their status of the Course, the format of the Course, and the name of the Course!
This makes searching for their courses much easier!

  4. Hide Cancelled and Transferred from Courses
Courses that your Learners are no longer attending can now be hidden away very easily with the check of a checkbox!
Within the My Active Courses page, checking the ‘Hide courses I am no longer attending’ checkbox will hide any courses that they have a status of ‘Cancelled’ or ‘Transferred’ on.
Within the My Course History page, checking the ‘Hide courses I did not attend’ checkbox will hide any courses that they have a status of ‘No Attend’, ‘Cancelled’ or ‘Transferred’ on.

Learner Portal - Webinar Joining Instructions

Learners can now access webinar joining information from their Learner Portal view!

For Courses that have webinar details stored for delegates, that they are assigned to with a status of ‘Booked’ or ‘In Progress’, your learners will be able to follow the ‘Online’ link from the My Courses page and the My Course Breakdown page to access their Webinar Joining Instructions.

In this new page, the Webinar Joining information is available at the top of the page, followed by the Course’s Aims, Objectives, and Summary.

Learner Portal - Styling Updates

In this update we have also given the Learner Portal a bit of a facelift!

Each of the tables used throughout the Learner Portal have been updated with a fresh look, not only are they more aesthetic and modern, the content of the tables is now much easier to read!

To better align with accessibility requirements, each of the hyperlinks throughout the Learner Portal have been updated to a new colour.

Finally, we have updated the font in use from Verdana to Arial, Arial is a more compact font which means that it is possible for us to fit more context and information on the page for your learners, without compromising on usability!

Invoice Generator - Grouping Invoices by PO Number

Our final update is a new setting available within the Invoice Generator.

The new checkbox “Split Invoices by PO Number” let’s you decide whether you would like to split your Invoices by PO Number, which is the default, or not. If you decide to not split your Invoices by PO Number, you will be able to generate a single invoice that covers multiple PO Numbers.

If you choose to uncheck the "Split Invoices by PO Number" checkbox to generate a single Invoice for multiple PO Numbers, then the PO Number on your resulting Invoice will contain the text "Multiple POs". You will be able to reference the original PO Numbers from the Bookings.
