At the end of project meetings we ask each attendee to rate the meeting on a scale of 1 - 10 on how confident they are that the project is on track with the project plan and will meet the objective of the Phase 1 & 2 outcomes. This is nothing to worry about and it won’t take long. Essentially everyone will rate the meeting honestly out of 10, if there are any answers below an 8 this will be discussed so that we can address any concerns.
Score | Meaning |
---|---|
10 | I’m very confident we are right on track |
9 | I’m confident we are on track |
8 | I’m confident with slight concerns but I know what needs to be done |
7-6 | I’m not confident and I have some concerns |
5-4 | I’m not confident at all |
3-1 | I have serious concerns regarding the project |
There are a couple of reasons for us introducing this to our project meetings.
Although this may feel little awkward at first, this weekly pulse check does work. All that we ask is that you remain open and provide an honest score at the end of each meeting.
The confidence rating helps to identify risks if and when they arise rather than several weeks later. This gives us the opportunity to assess the situation, identify reasons for loss of confidence and put a plan in place to get back on track.
