Add a Continue Shopping button to your customers' baskets

To add a Continue Shopping button to your Checkout basket, just update your existing booking links by adding a bit of extra content to the end of the URL. This lets you control both where the button takes your customers.

This update will be handled by your website team as part of your website integration.

Here is how to update your booking links to provide your customers with a Continue Shopping button in the basket.

Standard booking links for Checkout are structured like this:

To add a ‘Continue Shopping’ button to your basket, update the booking links to include “&redirecturl=www.google.com” at the end, replacing ‘http://www.google.com ’ with the website that you would like to send your customers to when they click on the button! For example:

Using this option, you have full control of which website page your customers are directed to when they click your ‘Continue Shopping’ button, per Course they add to their basket! For example, this could be the website page that they were previously on, or it could be your website home page, or it could be a website page that they are likely to be interested in - based on the Course they have just added to their basket.

Brand the Continue Shopping button

As standard, your Continue Shopping button will be labelled ‘Continue Shopping’ and it will use the button branding options that you have set for the ‘Back Button’.

However, you can define your own label, and override the colours used by including more information in the booking link!

Customise the label

To include different text on the ‘Continue Shopping’ button, add the following to the end of the URL: “&buttontext=Back”, replacing ‘Back’ with the text you would like to be displayed. For example:

Please note, as URLs do not support spaces, if you would like to include spaces within your button label you will need to provide the URL encoding for spaces ‘%20’ instead. For example:

Customise the colour

To change the colours used in the Continue Shopping button, add the following to the end of your URL:

  • Change the background colour of the button: “&buttoncolour=%2300023c

  • Change the background colour of the button when it is hovered on: “&buttonhovercolour=%2300023c

  • Change the font colour on the button: “&buttonfontcolour=%2300023c

Replacing the ‘%2300023c’ with your colour of choice

Please note

As URLs do not support spaces, ‘%23’ represents a # character, therefore when adding your hex colour code to the URL make sure to enter %23 instead of a #.

For example, to use the colour #243afb as the button background colour, you would provide “&buttoncolour=%23243afb

For example:

Top tip!

You don’t need to update every colour on your button, feel free to just change the background colour if that’s all you need!

If you’re updating the font colour or the hover colour, you’ll also need to include a background colour to make sure your button displays correctly.
