Learn how to update Nominal Code options
Updating Nominal Code options helps ensure your financial and accounting data remain accurate, consistent, and aligned with your organisation’s chart of accounts. While the platform provides a standard list of nominal codes by default, you can easily add or modify custom entries to reflect the specific financial categories your organisation uses. For example, you might include options such as “Sales Revenue,” “Office Supplies,” “Travel Expenses,” or “Consultancy Fees.”

Add custom Nominal Code options
Follow the steps below to add custom Nominal code options using Custom List Items
Open the ‘Administration’ menu from the Profile options at the top-right of your platform
This will open the Administration menu
Search and select ‘Custom List Items’ within the Administration Menu
This will open the Custom List Item DataGrid
In the 'Custom' list items DataGrid, click 'Add New Custom List Item' button
This will open the Custom List Item pop up box
Select ‘Nominal Code' from the 'Item Type’ drop-down
Enter a name for your new Nominal Code type
Optional - Check the ‘Default’ check box if your new option is to be the Default nominal code when new Courses & Products & Services are added
Check the ‘Enable’ checkbox to enable the new Nominal code type to show in the drop-down
Click the 'Save and Close' button
You will now see your new ‘Nominal Code’ option available within the Nominal Code ID drop-down
