Assigning a bespoke course to an Opportunity not only allows the Course and the Opportunity history to be tracked, it also ensures all details — from customer requirements to Course development — stay organised and easily accessible to all team members. This process also helps your team deliver a personalised experience, as the bespoke nature of the Course can be managed directly against the Opportunity, supporting a smoother transition from enquiry to delivery.

Link the Opportunity to a Bespoke Course

Follow the steps below to add an In-house, bespoke Course as an Opportunity Item

  1. Select ‘Opportunities’ from the Main Navigation Menu on the left-hand side

  2. This will open the Opportunities DataGrid

  3. Using the search bar and or filters, find the Opportunity you want to update
    You can do this by searching the Opportunity title, Account Name or Opportunity ID

  4. Right-click on the Opportunity and select ‘Items’ from the context menu

  5. This will open the Opportunity Items DataGrid

  6. Click the 'Add Opportunity item' button at the top of the DataGrid

  7. This will open the Opportunity Item form

  8. Keep the ‘Item type’ as Course

  9. Using the ‘Select’ button, select the In-house, bespoke Course Template from the pop-up box (Note: A new Course Template for a bespoke course may need to be created first if the course is entirely new
    Create a new Classroom Course Template Create a new Webinar Course Template)

  10. Use the ‘Select’ button to open the Courses Datagrid

  11. This will open the Datagrid in a pop up box

  12. Click the ‘Add Course’ button at the top of the DataGrid

  13. This will open the Course Scheduling form

  14. The Training Provider & Course Template will auto populate, check that these are correct

  15. Select the ‘Start & End Date’ of your Course and ensure that the ‘Delivery Method’ is set to ‘In-house’

  16. Update the number of Places required

  17. Optional - Add a Trainer & Venue, these can be added at a later date

  18. Add the ‘Cost’ & ‘Cost Type

  19. Click the ‘Save & Close’ button

  20. Select the Course within the DataGrid and click the ‘OK’ button in the bottom right hand corner

  21. This will now populate the ‘Course’ field with the new 'In-house bespoke Course' you have just created

  22. Under the ‘Costing’ section, add the quantity of places your Customer is interested in

  23. Add the ‘Unit Price’ for the Course (this will be the unique cost for this customer)

  24. Select the ‘Unit Price Type’ from the drop-down; this is how the course will be charged

    Delegate - This means that the cost will be charged per Delegate
    Session - This means that the cost will be charged per session (if it's a sessional Course)
    Hour - This means the cost will be charged per hour. For example, if he course was 6 hours, it would be £55 x 6
    Day - If the Course is a multiple-day Course, this cost would be charged per day. For example, if it's 3 days, it's £55 x 3
    Delegate Day - This means the cost would be charged per Delegate per Day.

  25. Click the ‘Save & Close’ button

  26. You will now see the new Opportunity Item listed within the Opportunity Items DataGrid

Can I add multiple Opportunity Items to an Opportunity if they are interested in a number of Courses?

Yes! Just follow the same steps above for each Opportunity Item you want to add
