Create a Discount
Follow these steps to create a new high-value Discount
Open the ‘Administration’ menu from the Profile options at the top-right of your platform
Open the ‘Discounts’ menu option to access the page where you can create and manage Discounts
Click the ‘Add Discount’ button
This will take you to the ‘Discount Details’ form, where you can create a new Discount
Make sure you have the right Training Provider selected in the ‘Account’ drop-down box
This discount will only work on Courses offered by this Training Provider
Provide a label for your Discount
Your customers will see this label when they apply the Discount in the basket. Make sure it's easily identifiable when labelling. For example, we recommend adding the Seasonal Offer name within the label of the Discount - ‘Over £100 Discount’
Provide a 'Discount Code'
This is required even if your Discount will be applied automatically, the Discount Code must be unique on each of your Discounts. Make sure it's easily identifiable when labelling. For example, we recommend adding the name within the code of the Discount - ‘Over100’Use the ‘Apply Automatically’ checkbox to decide if your Discount will be an Automatic Discount or a Manual Discount
Check the ‘Apply Automatically’ checkbox if you would like the Discount to apply to bookings that meet the Discount’s criteria, without the Discount Code being entered, this would make it an ‘Automatic Discount’
Leave the ‘Apply Automatically’ checkbox unchecked if you would like the Discount only to be applied to bookings that meet the Discount’s criteria and the correct Discount Code is provided; this would make it a ‘Manual Discount’
Top tip!
We recommend setting all discounts to be ‘Manual’ to begin, until you have completed testing
Select the Discount Type as ‘Booking’
Booking-based Discounts will only apply once per Booking. This means that if you have 3 Delegates being booked together, the Discount will only apply once to the Booking
Delegate-based Discounts apply per Delegate, which means that if you have 3 Delegates being booked together, the Discount will apply three times to the Booking (if all 3 Delegates meet the rules)Set how much the Discount is worth using the ‘Fixed Amount or Percentage’ and ‘Amount’ options
If you would like to apply any usage limits to your Discount, e.g. each person can only use it once, enter this information into the ‘Usage Limits’ section
If you would like your Discount to only work on bookings made in a specific date range, enter this range into the ‘Validation’ section
Please note - these dates relate to the date of the Booking, not the date of the CourseClick the ‘Save’ button at the top of the page to create your Discount
You will now be able to access the other menu options in the Discount Management Menu
Open the ‘Rules’ page for this Discount. This is where you will set up your Booking value rule
Click the ‘Add Discount Rule’ button to add a new rule
Select ‘Invoice Total' as the ‘Course Template Booking Rule Type’
Use the ‘Rule Range’ to define the Total amount for the discount to apply. For example, £100-£500. This Discount will apply if the total is at least £100 up to £500
Click the ‘Save’ button at the top to add this Rule to your Discount
Optional - If you would like to make this Discount only available to specific customers, you can set this up within the ‘Account Exclusivity' page. For example, Anyone in the ‘Abbott Ltd’ Account who books a Course worth over £100 will receive this Discount
Optional - If you would like to make this Discount only available on specific Courses, you can set this up within the ‘Course Template Exclusivity’ page. For example, anyone who books any type of ‘First Aid at Work’ Course that totals £100 or more will receive this Discount
