By default, Trainers can be assigned to any Course in your platform! If you want to reduce the risk of assigning someone to a Course they’re not qualified to lead, you can use Course competencies to define exactly which Courses each Trainer is suitable for. This doesn’t restrict you completely, as an Admin, you can still override it when needed, but it’s a great way to support accurate scheduling, and to avoid mistakes.

This page will walk you through the steps to restrict a Trainer to only the Courses they are able to lead.

Define which Courses a Trainer is able to lead

1. From the Main Navigation Menu on the left-hand side, go to ‘Resources’ and then ‘Manage’

2. Search and/or filters for the Trainer, which the competencies are required for

   Open

   

    

3. Right click on the Trainer and select 'Edit' from the Main Context Menu

   Open

   

    

4. This will open the ‘Details’ page for this Trainer

   Open

   

    

5. Navigate to 'Course Templates' from the Resource Menu

   Open

   

    

6. This will open the Course Template section for this Trainer

   Open

   

    

7. Select the 'Add' button

   Open

   

    

8. Proceed to select the ‘Course Templates’ that the trainer is able to teach and click the ‘OK’ button

9. Once selected, click the ‘Save’ button in the top right-hand corner to save your changes
