Learn how to create a new Venue

Have a new location for your Courses? You can easily create and manage new Venues in the Platform, ensuring accurate information is available for both Delegate's and Trainer's. This helps avoid confusion and keeps everyone on the same page about where to be for each session.

Follow this page to learn the steps for creating a new Venue.


Create a new Internal Venue

Follow these steps if the venue is on a site your training organisation owns

 

  1. Open the ‘Resources’ DataGrid from your main navigation menu on the left by selecting ‘Resources’ then ‘Manage’

  2. This will open the Resources DataGrid

  3. Click the ‘Add Resource’ button

  4. This will open the ‘Resource Details’ form

  5. Select the Training Provider that your Venue will be owned by

    Account drop down

     

  6. Provider your Venue name within the ‘Label’ field

  7. Select ‘In-House Venue' from the drop-down menu

  8. Enter the ‘Cost’ and select the ‘Cost Type’ of your Venue

    Cost Types available are by Delegate, Session, Hour, Day or Delegate per Day

  9. In the ‘Other’ section, you can choose the quantity which is usually '1', you can select the Colour of your Venue so it shows as the selected colour in the Resource Calendar, you can enter a URL for the Venue if required and select which time zone the Venue is in

    additional fields such as quantity, colour, url and timezone

  10. If you are ready for your Venue to be assigned to Courses, you will need to enable it by checking the ‘Enabled’ checkbox, this allows the Venue to be added to Courses

  11. Now you need to enter some key details for your Venue, this includes the name, and address of the Venue

  12. You can add additional information about your new Venue such your main contact at that site, the contact number and whether the Venue has parking or not

  13. Use the ‘Capacity’ option to specific the maximum number of Delegates that can be trained within this Venue
    This information is used to validate your Venues when you assign them to your Classroom Courses to check that they have the capacity to host your Course

  14. Once you are happy with your form, click ‘Save’ in the top-right corner of your page

  15. Your new Venue will now be added to the Resource DataGrid

Create a new External Venue

Follow these steps if the venue is not on a site your training organisation own’s

 

  1. Open the ‘Resources’ DataGrid from your main navigation menu on the left by selecting ‘Resources’ then ‘Manage’

  2. This will open the Resource DataGrid

  3. Click the ‘Add Resource’ button

  4. This will open the ‘Resource Details’ form

  5. Select the Training Provider that your Venue will be owned by

  6. Provider your Venue name within the ‘Label’ field

  7. Select ‘External Venue’ from the Drop-down menu

  8. Enter the ‘Cost’ and select the ‘Cost Type’ of your Venue
