This page will give you an overview of the pros and cons of allowing duplicate email addresses on your platform.

Here we have a list of positive effects of turning the configuration setting on to allow multiple Users to have the same email address:

Pros

Cons

If two Users share an email address, they can have separate accounts on the platform and still use their email address for both.

When logging in, Users will need to remember and use their User ID on the platform.



If a User forgets their password, they won't be able to send a reset password email to themselves for help logging in, as multiple users use the same email address.



'Email Address' can't be used as a key column in Imports as it is not a unique field.
