Define the lifetime of a Course for customers renewing their qualifications

Learn how to automatically generate expiry dates for your Delegates when they complete a Course.

Keep your customer’s qualifications up to date, by assigning expiration dates to your Course Awards. This guide explains how to set your Courses up so that they assign Awards with automatically generated expiry dates to your completed Delegates, this makes sure they are kept informed of upcoming expiry dates so that they can renew their training on time and remain qualified!

Follow this page to learn the steps to assign an Award to a Course Template that will be assigned to each completed Delegate with an expiry date.


Add Award to a Course Template

The only step in this process is to update your Course Template to issue Awards.

If the Course Template has not yet been created, please see the guides available from the Related Help Guide Pages.

Please follow one of the processes below -

Follow this process if you do not yet have an ‘Award’ stored in your platform to assign to Delegates when they complete the Course.

  1. Start by going to ‘Course Templates’ from the Main Navigation Menu

  2. This will open the Course Template DataGrid

  3. Using the search bar, search for the Course Template you want to add the Associated Required Award to

  4. Once you have located your Course Template, right click and select ‘Edit’ from the Context menu

  5. This will open the ‘Details’ section of the Course Template

  6. Scroll to the bottom of the ‘Details’ section until you see ‘Award’

  7. Select your ‘Award Type’ from the drop down menu, this will determine the ‘Type’ that the new Award will have which is helpful for reporting but does not affect any functionality

  8. Once you have selected your Award Type, you can the add the Lifetime this Award will have before the User who receives the Award has to achieve the Award again, this is recorded in Months

Follow this process if you already have an ‘Award’ stored in your platform to assign to Delegates when they complete the Course.

  1. Start by going to ‘Course Templates’ from the Main Navigation Menu

  2. This will open the Course Template DataGrid

  3. Using the search bar, search for the Course Template you want to add the Associated Required Award to

  4. Once you have located your Course Template, right click and select ‘Awards’ from the Context Menu

  5. Scroll down the page to the ‘Associated Awarded Awards’ section

  6. Click the ‘Add’ button and select your existing Award

  7. Save your changes on this form

  8. If you would like to apply a lifetime to the Awards, so that your Delegates have expiry dates to support them renewing on time, open the ‘Details' menu option from the management menu

  9. Scroll down to the ‘Award’ section on the page and add a lifetime in months

  10. Save your changes on this page
