How To: Import Notes
Warning: We highly recommend and always suggest that you run an Import Job on your test platform first, before you upload the data on live.

Creating the Import Profile
First, you need to create an Import Profile to user for the upload. Click here for more information on how to do this.
For Notes you will need to create a Notes Destination.
The following fields will need to be Key Fields for the Notes Profile if you are importing one note against your object:
Mapped ID - This is the ID of what you are wanting to import against. For example, the Course Date ID or the Company ID
The following fields will need to be Key Fields for the Notes Profile if you are importing multiple notes against your object:
Mapped ID - This is the ID of what you are wanting to import against. For example, the Course Date ID or the Company ID
Note - This is the content of the Note
The following fields are also mandatory for this import but not Key Fields:
Mapped ID - This is the ID of what you are wanting to import against. For example, the Course Date ID or the Company ID
Mapped ID Type - This is the type of object you are wanting to import against. For example, a Course Date or Company. This field is a constant value and you must enter the numerical value. See below for your options:
1: User
3: Company
7: Award
8: Course
12: CourseDate
13: UserCourseDate
17: Invoice
21: Opportunity
22: UserAward
25: Resource
27: ResourceRequirement
29: Placeholder
34: Order (Purchase)
User ID - This is the ID of the User that owns the note
Note - This is the content of the Note
Filling in the Import File
Then, you need to create your import file that you will use to upload the data. Below is a sample file showing you how to format it:
All imports should be uploaded in a CSV format, as they lack formatting that would otherwise be included within the file.
