PSD2 - Payment services Directive (EU)
Here, you’ll discover how your accessplanit has been updated in response to the EU legislation PSD2.
What is PSD2?
PSD2 requires payment gateways to use strong customer authentication and secure communication. The regulation becomes enforceable in the EU on 1st December 2020.
If you take payments through your accessplanit shopping basket, here is an update on the changes we have made to support payment gateways with this new legislation.
Stripe
Our Stripe integration has been updated to use 3D Secure.
SagePay/Opayo
Our Opayo integration has been updated to include more identifiable information about a paying user so that they can be verified more accurately.
Barclays EPDQ
Our Barclays EPDQ integration has been updated to include more identifiable information about a paying user so that they can be verified more accurately.
You may need to make changes within your Barclays account to accommodate these changes, please review this document.
PayPal
We have not made any changes to our PayPal integration as this uses the re-direct method only, where PayPal handle the entirety of the payment process.
Adyen
Our Adyen integration has been updated to include more identifiable information about a paying user so that they can be verified more accurately.
WorldPay
We no longer recommend WorldPay as a partner but for those with this gateway already in use, WorldPay have not yet confirmed if they will be updating their Business Gateway accounts to support PSD2.
We are not considering a new integration with WorldPay at this time, however to continue using WorldPay it is possible to integrate your WorldPay merchant account provider with a SagePay/Opayo gateway provider. This will allow you to use accessplanit's Opayo payment method, but continue to manage your finances and connect your bank account through WorldPay.
Please get in touch with your CSM if you have any questions about this.
Global Payments
We have redeveloped our integration with Global Payments (previously Realex) from the ground up! This integration uses the redirect approach, this new integration will support refunds (previously not supported with our Realex integration).
